Born in Brasília, Brazil and raised throughout the world as a diplomat’s kid, Manuela has settled in Ottawa and joined Bluesky to support ongoing efforts in research and analysis. Prior to joining Bluesky, Manuela gained broad experience in Carleton University’s Department of Political Science as a student Research Partner and at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as a Junior Research Analyst in strategic policy. In this role, she identified and reported on existing obstacles or opportunities using a wide range of reports and datasets.
Through these experiences, she not only developed her expertise in key issues on migration, forced displacement, international law, and global politics but also most importantly expanded her knowledge of, and ability to navigate the Canadian public policy environment. She has a successful track record in supporting senior policymakers as well as academics in achieving their objectives and is wholeheartedly committed to supporting the Bluesky team and our clientele in the same spirit.
Manuela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Global and International Studies with a Specialization in Global Politics from Carleton University, where she graduated with High Distinction and a Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement. In addition to her professional work, Manuela deeply cares for her community and volunteers with multiple non-profit organizations and charities in the Ottawa area whenever she can.
Manuela is a passionate home cook. She loves challenging herself with new recipes and making meals for her family regularly.
