Lauren joined the Bluesky team in the spring of 2017 with a unique background in social media monitoring, event and conference planning, strategic communication, web design and media relations. At Bluesky, Lauren works with clients to connect them to the Ottawa community, facilitating relationships between parliamentarians and their constituents, and leveraging social media to expand reach both in Ottawa and across the country. Lauren studied at Queen’s University and Algonquin College in sociology, gender studies and public relations prior to joining the Bluesky team.
Lauren works on files spanning across many sectors from agriculture to the film and television industry, with public, private and non-profit organizations. Her unique skill set enables her to craft meaningful and compelling narratives that compliment the facts and data that clients want to share on traditional and digital platforms. Lauren uses her digital-savvy to create and manage websites and social media accounts, databases and outside-the-box social media shareables. She also uses her keen eye for small details and design in event and conference planning.
Outside the office, Lauren actively participates in Ottawa-based community advocacy initiatives. Prior to working with Bluesky she served as administrative director for the SeeHearSpeak campaign, a non-profit charity partnered with the Royal Ottawa’s Mental Health Centre for Schizophrenia research.
