Heather Desserud
Heather Desserud is a recent graduate of the University of Western Ontario, from which she holds an Honours B.A. in English. Prior to attending UWO she studied English and History for two years at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
Since joining Bluesky Strategy Group, she has worked with clients including the Canadian International Hockey Academy, SDTC, NSERC, and the Federal Liberal Women’s Caucus.
In 2004, Heather was Acadia’s inaugural recipient of the Killam Fellowship in association with Fulbright Canada and the Foundation for Educational Exchange Between Canada and the United States of America. Through the Killam program she studied literature and American political history at American University in Washington, D.C. before returning to her native London, Ontario to complete her degree. Heather was awarded a Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada as well as an Ontario Graduate Scholarship for graduate studies continuing her research in medieval languages and literature, but elected instead to come to Ottawa to pursue professional writing opportunities.
Heather is also a dedicated musician who plays classical and folk violin.
