Brita is a strategic communication and public relations professional with 15 years’ experience producing successful results for organizations. Brita collaborates with clients from concept to delivery, helping them reach target audiences and achieve organizational goals. An experienced writer and strategist, Brita uses creative tactics to ensure plans and messages are expertly crafted and delivered. She also provides government relations support to clients at the B.C. provincial and federal levels. Some of her clients include the University of Victoria, the Bay View Alliance (UBC), Ocean Networks Canada (UVic), and Junior Achievement BC.
Prior to her work as a consultant, she worked in the public and private sector focusing on communication, fundraising and project development for a number of high-profile organizations including the University of British Columbia, the Sauder School of Business (UBC), Capilano University, Imperial Oil, Petro-Canada and the Canadian Pacific Charitable Foundation. She also served as Policy Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minster of Finance in Ottawa.
Brita holds an MSc in Planning and Development from University College London, UK, a BAC in Public Relations from Mount Royal University and a BA in History from the University of Calgary. Brita is a Director of the Take a Hike Youth at Risk Foundation and a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS).
